Hello all,

I am applying for masters in computer science in canada from India. I have 2 years of work experience and 1 and half years of post graduate diploma from a very good university.

I wanted to know when can I apply for PR being in student permit and how long will it take? Is it faster applying while in canada or in US as I know from India it is longer

Also my brother in law is a canadian citizen and my sister a PR. Will it help me in immigration?

Hi!

U can apply for PR as soon as u come here. However u shud be allowed to be in Canada for more than a year. They say it takes about one year to get the PR if u apply after coming to Canada (u have to send ur application package to Buffalo, USA).

U will get 5 more points for having ur sis and BIL here.
