I guess one could just walk through the border some place in Manitoba where there seem to be several crossing points. However, if the Can border agency stamps the passport somehow, the absence of such stamp may lead to troubles later. Assuming no such stamping happens, I guess one could walk right through the border... if lucky enough not to run into some border patrol! LOL I heard at least a couple of times how some white Canadian dudes who walked back and forth in and out of the US since the US customs refused them entry at the border.

-- In this case that you have heard, there HAS to be something else than the PR card renewal. Because you DO NOT lose your PR status if you forget or if you do not renew your PR card. The validity of the PR card is important ony to travel to Canada.

Hi Texan..

I was outside of canada for 2yrs 11-1/2 months..

At the airport i admitted to the facts and they had me go though a rigid interview, but let me through and said if i over stay more than the remaining days i would lose PR...

I did a lot of research on this subject as a result of my status..

Here is what i found out..

If u have a unexpired PR immigration will allow u though.. but will intiate a removal process, (cant recall what it is called). U will be asked to appear before a immigration judge who will make a decision on ur case, u can hire a lawyer and present ur case.. In most circumstances u will lose.

Now for the cheating part..

I have not cheated so i don't recommed it, but it is possible...

I recently went to the US for a couple of days.. I took a Greyhound back from detroit. On my way back i was not even asked to show my PR card/ Passport and they just asked how many days i was in US..

So in short if u take Greyhound u could reenter without any thing being logged on ur PR card..

If u are in US and have gone out of canada using land transit it is very difficult for immigration to find out about ur residancy days because nothing is logged..

I know some people who have used it to thier advantage and got a Citizenship before the 3 year residency rule..

So all said and done .. a number of people have done it..If u plan on doing something similar make sure u keep quite about it because u can lose ur citizenship after the fact if they find out the false info u have provided...

I wanted to reach out for any experiences of CD's with Canadian PR who have tried to enter and/or move to Canada after violating the 2 in 5 yr residency reqt.
I know what the official ruiles are but I am trying to gauge how strictly they are enforced in reality.
I also know that they have to let you in to the country while you appeal their decision. However what are the chances of you winning the appeal ?
Also any good lawyers CD's can recommend who specialize in this ?
Thanks
