I worked in retail in Calgary. Haven't seen this kind of salaries here. The starting rate is 8 to 9 dollars an hour. One doesn't get jobs based on experience.

There is a shortage of workers definitely but mainly in construction, truck driving, electricians, general labour, etc. Ofcourse there is also a demand for engineers, IT people. As per a report there is a major shortage of Sales personnel also in Canada.

I have 15 years of sales experience. Didn't get a job offering me more than 2300 dollars per month.

So do not rush here & get disappointed.

Start a systematic job search thro' websites of various companies. Come on a visit to Alberta for 10-15 days, explore your prospects, drop resumes at various companies in your field & wait for a proper response.

I don't know if job fairs are being held by retail companies at other places. Do you come across newspaper advertisements, etc. in your regions?
