Last week I was watching news in one of desi TV channels. The news is that starting from May 02, 2006 there will be a change in rule which will allow new immigrants to appear for a G license test(without any waiting period) provided he/she had an experience of driving for atleast 2 years in his/her home country. For this, the person has to submit only an affidavit of his driving experience. In case the person makes false statement he will be fined upto $5000
Has anybody checked it out. I checked out the MTO website but there is no such information available yet.
Check this website you could find the deatils
http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/dandv/driver/exchange-faq.htm
Waiting period is not for the people who have more than 2 yrs of driving experience from their country, ppl with more than 2 yrs of exp can directly go for written test and then G driving test provided they submit, proof of experience and get their license verified from their country.
i doubt about this afidavit thing

Yes you can directly apply for G License if you have more than two year of Driving license. But once you fail in this test, you can apply of G1 license after that. So please be sure, if you are so confident and have taken enouch classes and exp. beofre apperaing only than go for "G".
