If you have received your visa you can drive to Canada US border (nearest is naigra falls from toronto). When you reach the US border tell them that you have to go back to Canada and you do not want to enter US. They will take your passports and send you upstairs in the immigration office. An assigned officer will call you and ask basic questions. He will accompany you until you turn your car back towards Canada and then hand back the passports. When you come back to Canada border it is treated as if you have landed on the airport and will finish the formalities of Landing paper within no time.
Basically you are exiting Canada - Entering the No Man's Land - Entering back in Canada.
You do not need any US visas.
Hi to all
I am in great desperate situation because the case of my son was sent to Islamabad (Pakistan) after it was being approved by CIC in Mississagua. Now it has been 4 months that I'vent got the reply from them .Although both me and my wife r here in toronto for the last six months,We had to leave our son their in pakistan because my wife was expecting and we had a baby girl in March, she cannot go to pakistan because she is not sure whether the visa of our son would be issued or not.
I ask any one of u what is the normal time for issuing visa to my son as its beeen 4 months after the approval from canada.
Secondly I am afraid that they wont reject.
Thirdly wat shld I do to expedite the case (except from asking God).
If someone has been through the kind of situation plz do let me know and plz reply me wat can i do to bring our son here with us as u all know situation in pakistan is getting tight ....bombs and attacks make us stressful we dont want our 2 years old son live there.
Thanku
Hello All,
My Wife & I are PR Holders & are currently residing in USA. We completed landing formalities in September 2007 but we had come back to USA almost immediatly after landing as i had a contract with my employer. We have now decided to move to canada in February of 2010 & we are currently making arrangements for that. However we recently had a baby who is 9 months old & is a US citizen. I have read in these blogs that you have to live in canada to sponsor for a dependent child & cannot sponsor while you reside outside of Canada. Whar are our options here to get our baby along with us ? We have already applied to sponsor for my daugther last month from USA but after reading this forums we came to know that you have be physically present in canada to do that. Will my daughter be denied entry into canada because we are PR holders even though she is US citizen ? IS there anyone who are in same situation like me before? We are prepared to send the application the day we land in canada but what about my daughter if she was denied entry ? she hasn't stayed with anyone other than me & my wife ( not even with grand parents who are in india) & it will be tough to leave her. Can some one please post your experiences if any one has gone through this similar situation before?
Thanks,
SFODESI
Hi fellow CDs,
I do realise that this topic might have been beaten to death but please bear with my queries as I find conflicting data on the board and the CIC guide for sponsoring dependent children born outside Canada.
Only 2 queries -
1. Need to reconfirm this query - Does the sponsor need to pay the RPRF of $490 for a dependent child less than 22 years and that child is the principal applicant. CIC guide states it as not required.
2. Does the sponsor need to pay the processing fees of $75 or $150 for the same dependent child under 22 and that child is the principal applicant. (DesiTiger mentioned it to be $150 but the CIC guide states it as $75)
I am referring to Pg. 26 of 33 of the Part 1: The Sponsor’s Guide document found at the following link -http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/3900E.pdf
Many thanks!

Hello ,
My brother has same situation. He . his wife and son have PR and now they have baby girl born in India. For sponsoring her daughter can someone really help in following......
1) In the form IMM008 ( 2nd page) detail of family member.....this form should be filled by sponsor....if my brother is the sponsor then his wife, son and daughter( new born) names should be there.
2) Will accompany you to canada ! here only new born should mark.....! Pl. guide
Second thing we have already sent once the application but officer sent back us to complete in incomplete information and asking for Schedule 1 ( background / declration) for new born. Can someone help in this ......who is signing this form ..father or thumb impression! ...littel confusion. ( actually this form is required only for age 18 and above)
Do my brother has to sent only his daughter's picture or all the family memebr.
Thank you so much.
