So why don't I simply move to the city?

For many positions I am overqualified. I recently was going through an interview and the interviewer after seeing my resume said I am clearly overqualified for that position. If anyone wants to help me out with a job in the city please do send me a PM and I would appreciate your help. I have 11 years of IT consulting experience mostly from the USA.

I guess I will steer the thread to get back to the topic.

The number of PMs I recieved after I posted the above message= 0 !!

To all those guys who NEVER FACED RACISM: - just because you never faced racism doesn't mean there is no racism. I lived several years in the USA in the last decade and never felt racism and used to think like you guys until I had tasted racism myself.

Here is my two cents on racism, as I see it. Situations and circumstances may vary, but let’s admit, we all (I mean immigrants of color) are hard hardwired to remember that we will be the targets wherever, and whenever there is racism. There can be three situations, first, someone is not racist, but due to certain circumstances he/she reacts or makes comments which we feel is racist, because of our insecurities, I would say we have to be careful on this. If we react, we may increase the misunderstanding. Second, someone is racist but keeps it to self and doesn’t say it in as many words, but you can make it out from his/her behavior it is very subtle and tests our tolerance. You can’t do much about it, can you? Thirdly, some are outright racist. No matter what you do, they will confront you. That’s where we should react. Now the lines can be draw based on tolerance level. I am not sure of Thunder Desi experience though.
