Nice to see an educated bunch discussing facts.
On a side note I thougt Id share this independent media link I have been following over the years. It has been a beacon of truth for me from all the muck from the so called news networks.

If you want to see truth and justice. Start living it.How can haliburton sell you something you dont 'want'? Stop using your cars. Downgrade to simple needs instead of 'wants'. Risk being called a nutcase

The fact that I drive a car does not give me the right to rob fuel from another.
You work and produce and make a fair trade with the produce to get your oil, simple aint?
I dont see anything wrong with Halliburton selling me what I need. What is wrong with that?

Inorder to keep the price of oil down for your car and mine...the govt will do all it can.
What about the fact that your standard of living is directly related to the economic prosperity of our much maligned neighbour down south. That economic prosperity has come up the cost of propping up one dictator and bringing down another.
Its robbery/injustice one way or the other. You and I have already agreed to the robbery...we are only arguing about how covert it should be.

Not so simple.
e.g:Some dictators will sell their oil to you. Some will sell it to your enemies. Your interests may lie in ensuring that its sold to you inorder that its cheaper for your people and the economic engine. You dont want your rivals economy to undermine your clout.
e.g:
The chinese will build that dam to cover some of their energy needs and satisfy the worlds 'need' for cheap goods. Environment and social/economic justice(for the displaced villagers-1.9 million people) be damned. Yeah, we can always pretend that our 'need' for Wal-mart goods have nothing to do with it. After all we pay Wal-mart they sell us the goods...simple enough?
The trade aint that fair...its never been....for a lot of people.

Halliburton will only be happy to oblige. In any way it can. At one time it did it by propping up Saddam. Then Saddam decided hes the boss...you know the rest.
