What a shame. Immigration is a biggest scam in this country . I believe that Canadians derive sadistic pleasure in pain of immigrant professionals who are forced to do labour jobs to eke out living.

Professional institutions block the entry in guise of “high standards “ but do little or nothing to implement. the same.

The professional institutions can get away only with active support of legislature only as they come in to existence because of a special legislation .

I believe Liberals have a very sadistic traits in them as during last 15 years , they have been in power most of the times and did nothing but “Lalugiri” by paying lip service . They did nothing concrete to force the professional bodies to establish objective and verifiable criteria to assess and grant recognition to qualifications of immigrants.

In next general elections, it is most likely that Conservatives will be back with majority and for next 5 years , we immigrants will be in limbo as these conservatives are openly hostile to immigrants. As a side note, I have better respect for conservatives compared to liberals who have back stabbed us.

Most sad part is that none of the political parties have uttered a word about immigrant’s plight except may be paying a lip service.

This country is, so far as immigrants are concerned no better than BANANA republic.

Individual professionals and ethics as well as work based competencies and tools used to measure the same (including self evaluation on a yearly basis by doctors and other professionals) is the gist of this article.

and btw yes. I as a Canadian born derive great sadistic pleasure from seeing all immigrants working in sub standard labour jobs. I drive through the industrial areas of my town every day going ha ha ha ha ha at everyone I see. As an employment counsellor I stop asians everywhere I see and hand them taxi driving jobs. Totally out of sadistic pleasure you see.

and the only context of banana republic I am aware of is the store..and they have nice things..so if it was an insult..i dont think it makes sense!!!
