Can I rent a car and drive in US if I have a Canadian G2 license?

Absolutely u can ....
But beware of rental companies ..I was just RIPPED by one of the major companies "enter.." I am now seeking a legal advise ..

P.S: take full coverage ... In case of an accident it wont go to your driving record ..

hello AshwaniG,

does that mean if i take a full coverage (rental car) and get involved in a accident, it won't effect my driving record?

If i am not wrong: if u have a accident in a rental car and if u have coverage you/your insurance company does not pay for it the rental company's insurance company pays for it.

Howeve if the accident happens in ON or New York or any state that shares driving records and if it were your fault and you got points it would show in your driving record.
That would eventually affect your insurance

Hi Chittesh !
You are wrong ( atleast as per what I was told by rental co . ) .
I specifically asked this Q ..I was tod that the driving record doesnt get effected if you opt for a full coverage ...But yes in case of doubt its better to confirm with the rental co again

What Chittesh said sounds more logical to me. As Ashwani said if anyone confirm with rental companies, pl post your findings.
