Hmmm. I see. You write and that's your opinion. I write and that is "butting in"? Boo!!:)

Listen, I have never seen this kind of "uprising" in other forums. Why don't we curb ourselves and help the moderators curb the sorry asses?

Thats the modus operandi...whenever someone writes something these folk dont agree with its 'butting in' and are asked to keep out. And they are the ones crying about unfairness.

Anyways BL(sorry to break your quote rule)...I know you had good intentions and all that but as you can see most folks will enter into this with their one point agenda of settling scores and petty peeves.

All forums have people on all sides of arguments and CD is no exception. You cannot please everyone...any creation has to take the form of the ones in control at one point of time. If people don't like it 'suck it up'. The alternative is unbriddled nonsense which will take the forum to nowhere.

Another feedback which I d like to share is ......... we must have defined lines as to what constitutes polite and impolite (read acceptable and un acceptable limits) posting behavior as politeness / decorum is a relative thing...... mods can discrete whether someone is treading that line and this does not refer to profanities alone.

Strong comments may be deemed un necessary as they then generate personal responses ............ differences should exist but they should be only restricted to opinions .

I know this is hard to track and control but when an un pleasant situation is arising or when moderators observe they can remind the members to be courteous and in keeping with the vibes at the forum ..... ir respective of who the member is ..............its a tough balancing act I agree but it can be a shot for the forum when needed .

One more thing ... which comes to mind .... just trying to share as many thoughts as come ..... is to control digressing from the topic for war of words as this is a frequent occurrence where threads leave the OP and find a new unwanted route .

Cheers ... Good day ahead .

oh ok. So now moderation is needed ;). Funny that's the only thing you retreated on, I thought you had so much more potential.

I started this thread to get objective feedback on moderation on CD. Not for people like you air personal vendettas. Don't know what your problem is and honestly don't care. This thread was not intended for you to whine about me.

Secondly, this whole notion that I keep calling people names is ridiculous and indicative of someone who's hardly been around the forum and loves to be an armchair critic with nothing solid to contribute otherwise. I have never started off calling anybody names, but there are jackasses who'll come back over and over again, could not care less about the health of the forum and are pretty much here only to create a disruption. I could not care less about them.

You've been taking a few swipes at me from time to time and I've let some pass. You obviously have an axe to grind and I don't have time for you. I'm going to call an idiot an idiot, if you have an issue with that, go to another forum! Or create your own with no moderation, good moderation, whatever the hell you want. On CD though, any more back-handed swipes against me or any other mods and you're out of here, you can go back to proving your 2-minute alias creation and proxy server theory since you've nothing better to do.

In any case, this discussion wasn't meant to be about me and I laid some clear ground rules at the start. I'm going to lock up this thread now, because at this point its nothing more than back and forth.

I will also summarize the feedback over the weekend, post my responses and action items.

Lastly, I slot CD members into two main categories when it comes to their stand on moderation.

1. The ones that genuinely want to contribute and help out others but have constructive suggestions on CD moderation. I'm open ears to these guys and you can continue PMing me your feedback and although I may not action on all recommendations, I will certainly owe you a response.

2. Others who're simply here to settle a score and whine. For multiple reasons. Some are just armchair critics with grand ideas and nothing to back it up, some are jealous about the success of the forum, some started something similar that failed and then the rest just plain psychos or show-offs. You already know how much I care about your feedback so save your brain cells and effort to type. You don't like it here, please find something else. We're not interested in having you around either.

Whatever anyone may say, I have full confidence that we've created and maintained a VERY unique platform that has helped thousands of people. And we have and continue to keep garbage out where most other forums have failed miserably. Matter of fact, I don't know ANY other forum like CD. In that, we've far exceeded the goals we set about 3 yrs. back. And what made this happen is a potent mix of great members with a strong desire to contribute mixed with some rock-solid moderation to keep the junk out. Its a joint effort and that's the only way this forum will continue to be of any value to anyone.

There is tons more we can do time-permitting and tons more we'd like to do. If you want to ignore all the positive aspects of the forum and simply keep finding fault, that's your problem but that's an attitude we have no desire to entertain.
