Perhaps the mod you are talking about has got the hint and is formulating a reply to this post with all the big words thrown in just to prove his 'intellect'. I can actually imagine him typing and re-typing...
This is a public forum guys. Who the hell needs moderation. It is a free world. A lot of people (including me) come to this forum to share knowledge and I WILL assume we all are mature enough as in what to filter out. Who the hell cares about who is paying for this domain name. While I do appreciate the time the mods contribute, it is the user base that has made this platform popular.
Recently we saw a backlash against one particular mod by a user. I do not blame the user, it was the moderator who called in for it and got it nice and well. Though I personally would not use that kind of language in a pubic forum, but I think it was very much appropriate to be used against this mod as he deserves it. Deserves it....more than that he actually calls for it by calling people names...and by using his favorite word moron... It’s high time he gathers his act together and acts a little grown up. Just because he has a way to edit someone Else's post doesn't mean he will use it as often as he wants. With 'power' (well in this case... to edit a post) comes great responsibility. This particular person obviously doesn't get that in whatever little brain he has been blessed with.
And he actually picks up on people for making grammatical mistakes on this forum just for the purpose of humiliating while there is another moderator who calls himself a ‘PROUD member of a Hindu sect’ who is pathetic when it comes to the use of English language....go give him some language lessons my friend and then come and pick up on other people...so much to talk about MODERATION.
And as far as it concerned about the of 'power' to ban a user ID...it actually takes a person exactly two minutes to log on to Canadiandesi.com by creating a new user ID and coming through a proxy server even though if his/her IP has been filtered. This is the internet dude...grow up.
And just in case you guys couldn't guess it, the moderator in discussion is a 'Colored Lobster'...

Your public IP will be the one acquired by your proxy server from your ISP.
And it will always pin point your location to a fair degree of accuracy (at least to the city level).
All ISPs are required by law to maintain a history of all DHCP addresses assigned to their subscribers, so they know who got that public IP on a specific date/time.
That is what law enforcement agencies use to track down hackers, terrorists and distributors of illicit content.
So don't assume you are invisible just by using a proxy server.
Not that it matters for CD forum, but just an FYI in general.
