hey everyone...
l am in usa rite now on h1 visa...
i ll get PR of canada soon, expecting this month....
l have commercial driving license from usa (that is car license)
will i have to give exam in canada for its G license or will i get it directly without exam on basis of my US license ??
thanks
If I recall correctly, if you've held a full license in the US for 3 years or more, you will get G.
Less than 3 years, you will get G2.
If you hold learning permit in the US, you will have to start from scratch i.e. you won't get G1 without writing the test.

Pratick is absolutely right as usual
In addition, State Farm recognises your US driving experience, so you can expect a considerable discount from them.

Thanks for the reply
l just have license....l dint had car, so i dont have any points on me.....
and i got license in 2008 so its not more than 3 yrs...
So you will get G2.
You will have to have your license exchanged before you can buy a car in Canada as a PR.

Actually its 2 years,. we just exchanged our USA driving license for G type.
and because you just got it, you will get G2.
Best of luck.
Thanks Pratickm and Kabutar12 for your responses...
so after i get G2, how long it ll take to get G ??
And will i be able to buy a car on basis of G2 license ??
