I *actually* see what ppl are facing here, in person and on TV also.
You watch too much TV! You take few personal experiences, validate with what shown on TV and believe this to be true across the board.
Its so very difficult for new immigrants, esp in the medical profession, to be accepted.
Once new immigrant medical dr. receive proper certifications and credentials, they actually thrive and do better than majority of immigrant population.
You have to struggle here, and I mean real struggle, before you can acheieve anything.
I will love to find out where on earth I don't have to struggle to achieve something.

posts like yours paints a very rosy picture of india .......just like candanian consultants in india paint a rosy picture of canada .
yes there are great things happenning in india but one must not lose the
big picture of what a common man goes thru there
that is where i disagree with you ..

Hey guys,
You are all doing a damn good job, by posting the pros and cons of the issue. Well...thats good. I hope there are a lot of readers taking part in this forum as simple readers, not contributing any thing to this forum ( as they dont have any exp. ), but trying to learn and understand what is reality and what is illusion !!
I bet, new comers always want facts about how to go ahead with struggling to streamlined life with positive approach, not illusionary facts which can deteiorate them off.
As an immigrant I had been to Toronto last year with my wife and 2 small kids, but didnt stayed no longer than a month there as I was in a IT project in Gulf as Oracle professional. Now thinking of moving to Canada, even though IT field is not that rosy there in canada.
It is your life, you choose. Dont compare with others as their personal skills, approach are different than yours, thought profession or place from where you come from is same. !!!!!!!!!!
Yes there are some professions in Canada , where you find real difficulty to get a job. There are many jobs which no Indians prefer as it is not recognised a 'Decent job' as per the Indian cultural standards and there are jobs in Canada, where Canadian culture not prefers an indian to work with.
Face the facts !! Take right decision.....
If you think you are not adaptable, it's upto you.....whether to be happy in India or struggle in Canada.
If adaptable, it is upto you, whether to enjoy Canada and support Indians to give right directions .....
I found there are many good guys here posting appreciable comments with facts. Continue your work ......we do expect from you guys a lot.
as Personal experience is the reality !
Hi Guys,
I was just trying to give you clear picture of t he expanse plus life style that a salary person with 50-60 k pm money will have in India. If find good, then come back as many seems so eager. I am not sure how much you all chaps have experience of working in India . But I certainly have petty good experience at least in nearby US.(Did make many trips thanks to IT) .
It is just a personal choice that one has to make. Let me tell you, one of my boss comes from US(after working 3-4 years) to settle back in Delhi. He did come back in year 99 when IT was at its peak. I am still amazed as why he makes such a move. & he seems petty happy . So it all ends to personal choice.
At least i think my children have not much future in India. So i m making this move. It is good our friends are telling us about the ills of Canada. That way we will be much more mentally prepare.
After all if whatever plans I have in Canada fails. Or find that Canada is bad country to live as you guys want us to believe. Fine will just login to nuakri.com and take flight to Bang lore. After all some advantage we have by working/living independently in India.

I once made a mistake, but I was wrong about it.
Canada has been a traditional importer of human capital from the rest of the world. During the late 1980's however, two trends emerged to offset this surplus. Canada is a relatively open economy in terms of both trade and immigration.
Canada ability to absorb growing flows of immigrant workers with high levels of causes relatively high unemployment. This adversely affect a skilled immigrant when they do not find a job in their respective field.
As an immigrant you have to use your connections and superior "market intelligence" for better job opportunities. This is the road to success.
Canada is good otherwise for immigrants with low and moderate levels of schooling as they can consistently become self employed the longer they stay in Canada.
Human capital transfers to Canada declined as fewer skilled immigrants arrived and secondly, highly skilled Canadians began to emigrate to the United States. If you are not happy as a skilled immigrant to live in Canada a back-door entry to the United States had been created, under the NAFTA and ideal for people just like the unhappy ones.
'An immigrant family' experiences a linear, monolithic process inevitably resulting in integration, a process sequentially contained within the two national boundaries of the home culture and the new culture. This is another cause for unhappiness. After all the years of living in a truly Indian culture in India it is obviously going to be a vast culture shock. Something that we will never be fully able to imbibe the Canadian way of living and habits.
I believe if you try to conquer the negative aspects like a good job, nice home, kids doing well in school and a vacation once every two years then there is no need to return to your homeland. If you still think about going back after even gaining above average success in Canada then it is best to take a six months break. Spend that time living in India and see if you like it or not. If you do then stay back. If not then you can always return to Canada. I am sure after that experience you will look at things in a different way and be more happy of the decision you have finally made.
Do you think working as a labourer in canada is better than living in India as a software engineer?
