2. We just let everyone know the place and time and ask everyone to come with sufficient food, drinks for themselves and one more family ...say in all everyone brings food for 8 people

I would suggest a small change here: Instead of bringing food for 8 persons, everybody should bring enough food for their own family plus one sweet or snacks (Gulabjambun, Khaman, Rasgulla... etc) item for 25 persons. That will add variety for the food and also there is no wastage.

I will not bring anything :D

Garvo dont you think if everybody brings sweets for 25 it will be too much..

Here's what's decided

Date : July 17th, 2004.

Venue : Bluffer's park - Scarborough.

Food -

Like Garvo suggested, for the food items, ever family should bring their own. But I agree with Manjeet that if everybody brings sweets for 25 people, that'll be too much. I think sweets or snacks for about 10 people should be enough.

When we eat, what we can do is split up into groups of those numbers and those groups can decide on how they want to share their food and snacks.

Suggestions welcome on this, but I'm guessing whatever we do here will probably be something impromptu.

Activities

Cricket will definately happen if so many desis get together. I think this will take up the majority of the time. We can also play stuff like Antakshari, Bingo etc etc.

Kids games will also be organized, and prizes will be handed out for the same.

----------------------------------------------------

I don't believe picnics should be meticulously planned, they're more fun when things are spontaneous. However we should have a rough guideline of what we want to do and then let everybody's wishes dictate when we get there.

What do you guys think?

Are you there?

I have volleyball and a net for beach volleyball, that will do for fun.

We can also play our desi games - Kabbadi, Kho-kho, Satoliya, Gulli Danda etc.

We also need to plan some games for desans.

What should be good time to reach? We decide the place and date, but not duration!

Ideally we should meet after lunch say around 1.00 and stay their till dark and have dinner.

Everybody agreed?
