PICNIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HURRAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah me want 2 come too. always count me in for a picnic. Pls pls pls have it after may 30th pls.. so my new baby can come too
I'd bring a lot of food for everyone but prolly won't be able to, but a potluck is a great idea. Everyone can bring what they can, however much they can. I think one dish per person should be adequate really, coz there's always lots left over in a potluck and it goes to waste.
There's a really nice forest preserve behind our subdivision, it's pretty huge and has all the barbeque stuff and chalets etc needed to accomodate very large groups. I'll get u the name of the preserve and address later if interested.. it's near Don Mills and Eglinton.. so in the city but not really in.. peaceful place. whoever is organizing it, good luck! frankly I have no time or energy to help in that so whoever gets the job will deserve a really large iced cake at the end.

Ok.. I'am missing something here.... I said
"Summer's around the corner... Why don't we hire a bus for a day and go somewhere? Any suggestions? "
and the response I get is.....
"It is simply that I personally get very irritated when people put questions, or throw an idea in just one or two lines, without elaborating what they have in their minds"
I reread my post a hundred times , I still cannot think of anything that would "elaborate what I have in my mind" any more than the words in the post....Maybe others can help me by showing how they would phrase a similar message to accomodate easily irritable members?

Since most of the persons are busy volunteering - I will say, count me in for enjoying what you all are going to organise - bus/car/subway, khana/no khana, music/shujik or none - anything! I can bring in two cars but personally would prefer to go by bus, so that I enjoy my time in doing a lot of fun activities and eating-sheeting instead of concentrating on driving! Hope you guys (and or gals) can accomodate that request.

Organizing can be tedious with no response as most people wait till the last moment. Cost factor by bus is another issue for a family of four.
If the numbers exceed for max passengers going by bus then those who want to drive to the location instead of taking the bus will be good. It will be a good idea to take a vote as to who wants to take the bus and those than want to drive.
Can the moderator provide with a live poll where one can vote?
Just a simple 'YES' or 'NO' under the heading 'Do you want to travel by Bus?'
Nice Idea.... A picnic can do a lot better than a meeting and plus we should have a cricket match ( a feel good factor between Chandresh and Sridhar.... to improve the relationships )- the best part is it is less than 14 years - just kidding
Hey guys, What's the fun if we were all to come by our own cars, meet eat and part our ways back. I think we must organise a bus ( Not a school bus-Laidlaw- seems more like a police van from India and may be crammed for legspace for most of us). We must have antakshri and other desi games in the bus. That would be good enough to warm ourselves.
I think the best way to do is to raise this issue at the meet of 1st May and seek confirmations from Cd members. An advance of $5 must also be taken.
On food, I think beautysalon2, I think it would be a better idea to have a single caterer to bring in food rather than potluck as at this moment we do not have any idea how many people are going to turn up. We may be left with dishes - least wanted.
With no idea of portions, helpings etc , there may be a few people who wouldn't get some dishes at all. Doesn't seem good although saves money...
Games to be played at the picnic: Dog and the bone, tambola, cricket... any more ideas ????
