Exactly. This is the point which mars employment, inflation, cost to services , poverty etc(at least in today's context). Politicians keeps on moving with the agendas just to grab the power without thinking the future consequences.

Layton impressed me with his take on bringing the time frames down.
My vote to NDP because of this one!
My mother in law at 70 years has been waiting for the last 3 years to be united with her daughter. Harper keeps on dragging this..

Don't think of your mother-in-law only. If Jack Layton comes he is going to open the door for all the future immigrants and you know the consequences. Too many qualified people running for too few jobs.

Vote sensibly.

I am not against Jacky. He tries hard and speak well.

BUT the issue in this election I see is Voting for Jack's NDP means Voting for Conservatives as it splits anti-HARPER votes. Who gains after that will be conservatives.

Hope Harper does not get majority and we will have elections again on 2012 (ya it is expensive). We have to go for elections until we get good leaders in both major parties.

Harper government is arrogant and non-transparent.

ah yes, the top #1 emotional issue for immigrants.
and these bugger politicians know how to play on that emotional blackmail.

but think about the facts:
#1 Harper did not create the family class immigration backlog, it was already there much before

#2 Small increases in family class quota, even if a politician makes it, will have very little impact on the queue.
maybe move things up by a few months at the most for parents and grandparents immigration

#3 No politician - I guarantee you - cares for the immigrants.
this is purely a vote grabbing strategy.
as soon as he's in power (if he is), Layton will first start incorporating his real agenda.
the immigration quota increase will be delayed for several years because of the coalition, if at all.

his real agenda is as follows:
- tax the corporations esp. oil companies to death such that they pack up and leave
- double CPP contributions
- double GIS
- give large tax breaks to companies that hire unionized employees (his true supporters and his real agenda)
- ensure job security to unionized workers
- get support of francophones by helping the separatist terrorist Guceppe implement Bill 101 and draining all of Canada's funds into PQ

NDP is the sure and guarnateed way to make Canada bankrupt.
Have you all forgotten the Bob Rae days?
and how he bankrupted Ontario?
anyone who has lived through the Bob Rae days will never again vote for NDP.

if anyone is voting NDP purely for the immigration issue, don't waste your vote.
nothing will happen I'm telling you.
you think NDP wants to bring all old immigrants that will cause burden for their own supporters like unions and CARP?
no way....exactly the opposite.
the labor unions and the CARP will make sure that NDP does not increase the family immigration quota.

Facts: Family immigration time line was around 28-30 months (total) before Harper came and as of now it is around 90 months (say for Delhi) and going to increase to around 150 months in next Harper government.

Instead of telling NDP agenda why are you not telling Harper's agenda?
