You were right, nowadays they have changed the process at New Delhi office. They are sending passport submission request as soon as (1st or 2nd week) the file is transferred to ND and then they will hold the passport in the file untill the rest of process is complete and then they will send the passport back with visa stamp on it. The letter says "Passports are requested so that we can hold them on your file and issue your visas as soon as possible after all requirements have been met"

I have question on sending passport ot New Delhi. Which address you send ? The letter from CIC which requested to submit the passport does not mention on where to send it.
Second important question I want to ask is which reliable delivery service to use ?
The letter says "Passports should be sent by any secured mail deliverers (hand delivery will not be accepted)"
Submitting to the nearest VFS office is not an option they have mentioned on the letter.

Any updates guys on your processing "Nani, Gitu, Jiigz" ???? After looking at you all mine will take Dec, 2012. They received on 31st May, 2012. Fpr all of you, did your spouse had to go medical done before as well ?

Adi,

I got the medical done before submitting the documents to CPC Mississauga.
Now the case has been transferred to CHC New Delhi on 04 June, and even got the request for passport on June 18, 2012.
All the requested documents has been submitted.

Awaiting stamped passport from CHC, ND.

May be they are more strict with Punjab cases. But we are hearing many genuine marriage cases in Punjab are getting rejected. I don’t blame visa authorities. As lot of fraud also happens. That give bad name to whole community.

3rd point is quota for spouse visa are reduced to let more parents visa added in a year quota. That will also delay the things. Best of luck to everyone

Sorry to hear about your cousin's case of rejection of spousal visa. But in many cases it doesn't happen, please do not generalize by saying "Lot of spouse visa are getting rejected now a days in Delhi".

congrats! at least you got your sponsorship approved and waiting for the visa stamping.

your application is received by cpc, mississauga on 25th Jan and you received your sponsorship approval on 4th June. so, it took more than 4 months to get approval?

My application received by CPC-M on 6th March and till now I haven't received any approval/e-mail or letter from them about the sponsorship approval.

I do not know how many more days I have to wait.

Hi

There is an update. I received e-mail today saying that my sponsorship is approved and file is forwarded to New Delhi for further processing.
oh! stage 1 is cleared now. Now have to wait for ND for passport request.

My timelines are as follows:

Submitted Application to Mississauga Office: 03 March 2012

Mississauga Office Received the application: 06 March 2012

Sponsorship Approval: 16 July 2012
