Result, it is getting internationally known (even a clip in cp24) that its hard to do business in India. The millions of indians working in singapore, malaysia and middle east are bailing out through their remittance and IT consulting. Yet, the subdued progress is visible. Check the real estate, its taking a big slump and bound to go slower.
Any investment with an expectation to repatriate is likely to suffer significantly in future. I have experienced and my siblings much more..

Hi can anyone please advise what time we should go to BLS- Toronto to give our passports for the U-sticker .
As per OCI status:
My application/OCI is received at Toronto on Nov 09,2017 ( today) and i want to get the passports to them tomorrow hopefully but not sure what time should i go in 8-2 or the 3-5 ?
Any feedback is really appreciated .
Also want to thank all the members posting here, this has helped a lot of people to ease off the pain from BLS.

Also want to thank all the members posting here, this has helped a lot of people to ease off the pain from BLS.
Anything you have to GIVE them or submit is always in the morning.
Anything you have to pick up FROM them is always in the afternoon.
So I would advise you to go in the Morning 8-2 .
If it just came in today ( Thursday ) , I wouldn't go immediately next day on Friday. I would go next week .
These people are pretty incompetent and always have 2-3 days delays, even if the online system says they have it today. So usually you end up wasting a trip & a day & they don't care.
Anything with Indian government and embassies, you go 2-3 days after when they say something is ready or is already there. Unless its urgent, I would wait.
I don't know if things have changed now. But these folks are so callous & don't care for your time, that if you just wanted an OCI sticker, which is already in the office to be applied/stuck to your foreign passport.
They would make you come in the morning ( 8-2 ) which is the DROP of time, and take your passport from you and then tell you come back in the afternoon ( 3-5 ) or even the next day between ( 3-5 ) which is the PICK up time to pick up the passport with the U-Sticker attached !
So basically you waste the whole day or even potentially the next day !
Imagine you give them the passport, & the U-Visa sticker is sitting right next to it. It literally takes them 2-3 seconds to just paste the sticker & give your passport back to you. And then they tell you, now that you have given us the passport, come back in the afternoon to pick it up with the sticker attached, instead of giving it to you right there, over the counter.
In case anyone applying for pio to oci at FRRO Mumbai they are asking for landing papers which many may not have so this is a huge problem
