If you have seen recent movement on EB2 Category, it moved really fast. So are you saying even after considering that it will take another 5 years?

Hurat Honani Murat!
I would also consider your specialization and future jobs in Canada in that segment. It may happen you may not find enough jobs in Canada and may end-up in the USA on TN later on..

I think its a simple decision. 40k translates to much lesser amount once you apply the high marginal rates.
Also peace of mind is priceless.
When we watch movies, from bollywood in particular, the main character in the end always choses 'love' or 'peace of mind' or 'what heart says' over the money. We clap for it ! call that movie a hit !!
On contrary, In real life , a bit of extra money always confuses us.
In your case you are getting both and still thinking, asking ! Answer is simple.. choose peace of mind (citizenship surety) , move to Canada. Passport is THE driving factor , to understand that is no brainer. Pehley pakkey to ho jao! You are not losing millions. Still in case you foresee that you will feel the pinch often, Invest in a home (RE) from day one , you will stay even steven. 4 years down the line you will be much happier person, having lived in both the countries, built some assets, less obese and with choice of going anywhere, may be again to US.
One of my friend did it recently, exactly your case, 6 yrs in US, GC was in progress. He is sitting here now, happy ! and I did it few years back, only difference is my salary here is more than I had in US , lol.
OP,
If you are not in IT, then take the Canadian job. Unless you are in IT, you need a stable area to settle.
Peace

. Or may be one of the hectic projects just got closed with hefty bonuses and raise
.Thanks to all Senior CDs! Bhootnath, Dimple, Rajma, San, Surti and TK. Really appreciate the input. I am driving to Ottawa this weekend to look around.
Also trying to see if my wife an get admission in some college/Uottawa to get the "Canadian Experience" She has solid 5 yrs experience as a BA in IT in the financial domain but I think the only way to get a job would be to join a college. Hopefully, she would get a job and would help us make ends meet.
EB2 GC in US is underway (PD of 2011) but now after filing I140 I really cant go back to school or take risk of changing jobs because you can not get an non-immigrant visa (F1) after the I140 is filed in the US. The positive thing is however, if we stay in Canada to get our Citizenship, my priority date would be most probably current by then and all it would take is a willing employer for me to get a US GC.
If you guys can point us in any direction on her job front that would be great as well. I am reviewing past threads and looks like mostly there are contract jobs in Canada and that too "Canadian Experience" is a huge factor.
