Since this is tapering down - please note ..no offense was intended towards any religion .. I myself was born into a religion and do practice it for customs ... But would not & am against at harming any one of anything physically goaded by religious diktats..

Very interesting topic. I am born in very religious hindu family. I followed the RULES as they were TOLD that as a hindu this is right and this is wrong. But I always had questions in mind. I don't pray. If at all I went to temple accompanying my family, all I would say to "GOD" was thanks for giving everything. I always made fun of superstitions, astrologers, God-men etc as I never believed in them.

As I grew older, I became more clear that there is No God (like someone said before, its a concept created by man). Hearing news about killings and other crimes in the name of God and religion always upsets me. The day I heard the news of about 100 innocent children killed in pakistan disturbed me so much that we need to do something to stop this non sense. I kept thinking for next few days. I came to the conclusion that I cant go and fight with terrorists and change their fanatic thinking but the little change I can bring in this society is teaching my kids that there is nothing called religion. Treat all humans same. Respect everone and their beliefs. So thats what I did. I have no God idols in my house now. We celebrate all festivals like diwali, christmas and Id. I think if more and more people start thinking the same way, our coming generations will have to not deal with hatred.

Hope you are aware that after the recent killing of a muslim on suspecion that he was eating beef, now some people are asking for beef free blood. (Vegetarian blood / NV blood / NV blood without beef).

Not sure where this will lead to, though.
