I feel way safer in a SUV than in a small sedan...period!
Chances of survival are greater because of the higher seat elevation/belt line...in case you get t-boned by a bigger vehicle.
As my second vehicle, I am thinking of Toyota Sequia/4Runner/Acura MDX (used).
