It is a good idea to come alone first and if things go fine call your family or quit as early as possible

Every one has their own personality so do not comment on others. You will know better with time if you have patience.
I couldn't understand the reason, the person who is living and earning in Canada why he is discouraging Mr.Rao. Here I would like to clear one thing that one who has made his mind for coming to Canada, he will deffinatly come (most likely) so try to encourage not discourage.

Mr Rao,
It is fantastic to know that there are a few people interested in excitements of life but you must consider a few facts befor leaping in the void.I was exactly in yur place and read and went thru the same phases as you are going.I was workingas a mktg engineer or rather territory incharge in the second largest oil company of India for 14 yrs.I took the plunge as i was bored of life and wanted some excitement.Having lived under the illusions and bravedo i took the plunge and regretted after coming here but then each day i say to myself that let us try for some days and if nothing works out then India is always there.
You must consider the advise of the people on this board and let me tell you this forum is doing its very best for teh desis but ultimately the decision is of individuals.
As far as yur coming here ,Oct is a very wrong time as in Sept all students go back to school and the vacancies are all filled up so bythe time you comeand get acclamatised there would be very less to go about. So if posssible come early or in March. Further as far as survival job is concerned do not even think of it as it is impossibleto imagine the levels of labour workers or even truck or taxi drivers in Canada as the levels are very very different. You can try the call centres and telemarketing as most of the desis do with good standards of English. Please try public speaking and typing as much as you can.And for God' sake donot resign, take a long break and come and explore.
Do not think much in terms of education ,savings or north american experience as Canada is not US.There is a big racket of Govt. going on where they want skilled labours and not skilled professionals and most of the jobs are not advertised even.As far as English is considered yu will never be able to putup the north american accent (but your kids will defineitely do) however you may practice. And i say that because i got 7.5 total score in IELTS and full 8/8 in all the four aspects of commmunication in Canada when tested.but do not think of all those restraints.
If you do not believe in what all we are saying please do come as you want to experiment see for yourself and if you feel comfortable please settle down and contribute to canadian desi.com.I can atleast assure you of one thing and that is you will get full suppport from all our seniors and jniors of CD.If you want to find out you can always write e mails to any member of this forum although by doing that you will depriving a lot of people with the exposure to a lot of infomation.
SO think it over and make your decision and even if you make a wrong decision do not ever regret as that is your life.
Regards,
Junior desi
