Name Change in PR Card

Hi,

Myself and my wife landed in Canada in March 2003 and we came back to USA in July. We both got the PR Cards, SIN but no Health Card by that time.

My wife has only her first name in every legal documents. Her name is Shivani and my full name is Anurag Kulshrestha. But in USA, health insurance company needs last name too; so they used my last name in her name.

My wife is expecting in October 2003, before that she wants to get my last name as her last name in the passport.

My question is this "If she changes her last name in USA and gets the passport with the name Shivani Kulshrestha; Will this create any problem when we will move back to Canada in February 2004 with the kid; while her name on the PR Card is Shivani only."

Will she be allowed to enter in Canada or not?

Please advise me.

There will be no problem. She'll be allowed in as long as you have everything properly documented and you are able to explain to an officer exactly the way you did above & telling the truth.
