Lots of places are offering free flu shots. I read somewhere that because of shortage of flu shots people from US are comming over for flu shots and are being charged hundred dollars for it. Basically, do we go in for it. I never went in for them when I was in the US. what are other desis doing?

Never took a Flu Shot...been 8 years in North America.

I once made a mistake, but I was wrong about it.
I had fairly good immune system back home, may have dwindled by now. did take a chance 3 years ago by not taking the flu shot and i am fine so far. it is really upto you.

just to be on the safer side, get a flu shot.

Why do you want to get sick by taking the flu shot?
It's not going to protect you or anything - just going to make you sick and diminish your body's immunity even further.

Of course it is going to protect the body from the flu virus. That's what it is meant to do.
First try not to fall sick, and in that the flu shot is useful, and second is not to take strong medication if you do fall sick, in as far as is practicable. The body will build immunity if it is allowed to recover on its own. Falling sick to maintain immunity is not very intelligent.

No, it is not.
Most people get different types of reactions after getting the shot.
Think about it - someone has just pumped a load of viruses into your body.
What do you think your body is going to to?
It is going to try and fight it, right?
As part of that "fight", your temperature will go up, you will have infections in your ears, etc.
Your body is trying to "de-toxify" itself, but doing it because of unnatural and artificial causes.
Pumping viruses into your body and hoping it builds immunity is stupid at best, and dangerous at worst.
Also, there are another set of people who get even sicker - even endanger their life because their basic immunity has already been weakened by years of neglect.
Vacinnes do nothing to protect you, contrary to what the medical establishment might claim.

There is a world of difference between what it is *meant* to do, and what it actually does.
The CDC itself has admitted several times that vacinnes do not protect you.

In most people now-a-days, immunity is severly weakened as a result of years of neglect, such as, bad diet, deficiencies, overuse of antibiotics, depletion of natural benefic bacteria in the gut, etc.
You are simply making things worse by pumping vacinnes into your body every year.
When you get a chance, also trying finding out what those vacinnes actually contain - you'll be surprised - that I promise you.
