Hi All!!!! HOW ARE YOU?

I am going to get on rent a basement apartment in toronto. my concern is that whether it is going to be hot as there might not be an AC. I was told that basement apartments are cold. Right now it is getting pretty warm here in toronto.

Thanks....

Basement appartment sucks. If there is no AC then you may not have air circulation and there will be constant stink in basement. Basement actual purpose is to store stuff and not for staying in it. IMO, a 100 bucks more for an appartment is worth compare to basement. You're considering warm weather which does not last for more than 60 days in total for a year. What are your plans for winters????????

Charlie Sure has no idea what a Basement apt is. Basement apt does not mean it is in Basement. It is just called a base ment suite. It is actually a part of the main house that is constructed in such a way (with seperate kitchen, entry and bathroom ) so that it can be rented out.

It is at normal level to the house..

Dear Samak,

Let me tell you, I am staying in a BASEMENT apartment although we are very well placed to go for a 1000/1500 $ apartment anywhere in Mississauga. More then the likings and dislikingsat this phase of the re-location, it should be the point of a STRATEGY. In my case we gave ourselves 4/6 more months to stay here upto WINTER. We will save some more money due to this and till that time we may even buy our own flat/house.

However it all depends, what kind of a BASEMENT apartment you get. There are basements, which do not make you feel that you are below the ground level. In our case we do not switch on the lights thrugh out the day. So once again it goes on case to case basis.

But my point is to go slow on house-hold heads and keep your pocket a bit more closed in initial days. It help in a long run. This applies even if you have a house-hold earning of more then 3000 per month. This country gives all shades of enjoying the life so if you save TODAY, you are not going to LOOSE much, rather it would enhance your FUTURE ENJOYMENTS.

Regards,

VJ.

Dear Shalieshmehta,

Mississauga, where I am staying, the range is 600 - 850. You can get either 1 Bedroom or a 2 bed room GOOD/clean apartment in this range. You may even try for WALK-out basements too, they are like more close to the ground level.

Regards,

VJ.
