Hi, during my G1 i was asked to get a letter from my consulate to authenticate my old indian license about 5 yrs old. i called up the consulate and they say , they are not doing it any more, and that they want as many people to know this new reality as possible...so the only way out? 8 months wait to take ur G2.

my question is, has anyone else experienced this?? someone i knew was mentioning getting your license notarised...would that be an option??

It's a hit-n-miss thing. I know of someone who was asked to get the verification. He went away and next day visited a different MTO office, they accepted his licence. Even at the same centre two CSR's are not consistent, one may ask for verification the other may not.

thanx a lot for the replies. Can you please pass on the contact of the agency that sends the license to Ottawa? Also i checked the Ottawa indian embassy website and they are ask for the landing paper document. can i send my PR card instead? as i lost it recently, but have its photocopy still...
