Just a clarification regarding visitors insurance.
If you get the same from India, be informed that you have a tentative start date to this insurance. So if you do not get the visa , simply cancel it and you should get a refund.
More informed CD's can comment please.
Thanks,
Rajiv

I do NOT think, the hurdles in getting parent's to visit you on 'Visitor's Visa' has been a problem anyday for me.
In last 1 year, I have called my brother-in-law, then my own brother, My mom, as well now, it is my in-laws who are here on the visitor's visa these days. Never had a query / denial on any of their applications, when I backed up the visitor visa application with my Financial status as well the Invitation letter (not necessary to have it notorized, but good to have).
Yes, it is a good idea to buy 'medical insurance' for anyone who is 60+ of age as otherwise, it is a major concern for CIC to stamp visa to seniors.
PM me, if anyone needs more info. or needs to discuss the case-by-case issue.
Wish you all the Best and will pray that your parent's visa works out well.

Like you - a Canadian .. but still DESI
The other option of getting documents "notarized" is to go to city hall and clerk will stamp your documents after verification of originals and /or identity for "Free". This will have more weight.
