Hi,

My parents are here in Visitors Visa and they applied for PR 8 months before at India. They came here after applying for it. I have extended their Visa now.

Does anyone have idea how long family class immigration would take? After 6 months we got the file #. Need to plan their trip back to India.

My parents are planning to apply for permanent residence in India. Can they apply for the visa and then obtain a visit visa? Will they allow? Thanks.

It's very rare that someone who has applied for PR [in the family class]can obtain visitor's visa.

Thank you. The reason I was asking is because Hema seems to have been able to obtain the same. Her parents seem to have been able to get a visit visa.

To answer Hema's question: you can keep extending their visitor's visa if you want them to be here longer. It gets more difficult to get extension after 3rd attempt.

Processing in New Delhi is so long that almost certainly your parents will have to return to India and wait.
