Ofcourse it's a shame (or you think otherwise)

Such things are a shame in western world but a pride in India. e.g. if you are raided by income tax dept in India that means you have lot of money and unlike western world you donot have to go to jail.

Lana, have you seen anybody in India saying with pride about income tax raid?

Are you trying to say Indians are shameless (probably you were also Indian few years back)?

Dunno about you but I've heard it many times in India

"array yaar, Income tax kaa chaapa pada hey, bahut maal hoga" and the envious looks. It's part of our culture, this logic that everything is ok as long as you don't get caught.

DT,

I had also heard similar comments but from others (not jiskae ghaar chaapa pada). Regarding culture (It's part of our culture, this logic that everything is ok as long as you don't get caught.

), it is with true with every person anywhere in the world.... Enron, Worldcomm, Liberal Ad. scam, Oil for food scam, Harshad Mehta.....etc.). Until somebody is caught, whether it's u or me, nobody knows about it.

I was trying to be bit sarcastic.

Should we be proud that a person of Indian origin is also capable of doing multimillion dollar scams like Enron??

An Indian doing a scam in India is heard of. A person of Indian origin pulling a huge scam in US is rarely heard of

For CD members - please do not make this posting a fighting post of Canada v/s India. I am not labelling any country or culture.
