I called sears connect and they said this could be only added to regular telephones. And only allows one number on it.. the number that this long distance is assigned too.
At this point:
No cellphones, No VOIP (primus, vonage etc)
I am on Vonage. So, it sucks. But I am using G3 telecomm for 8.9c/min to India. Works out okay so far! I have seen worse
Beware reliance..Bharti steps in with a bang..

...though just in the US yet, but canada is not so far away..CDs hold on to signing any long term contracts, we might see long distance @ local rates sooner than later..

Mumbai Maazi Ladki ...
Cd's,
I had applied for a Sears long distance connection based on the cheap cost of calling India (I now use Reliance and i pay around $100 a month ), But Sears told me yesterday that there are some landline in which they canot install their service and that mine is one of them. They say that there is no alternative. I am using Bell Canada.
What do Cd's suggest. Can I transfer my long distance provider to Rogers and also get a new number and will this help in getting Sears to install their long distance plan in my landline? or is the building telephone wiring obselete that is hinders Sears connection plan?
I request CD's to share with me their experiences/ insights so as to rectify this issue.
Thanks in advance.

I am using SEARS on my Bell phone without any problem. May be it is some technical isuue. You should confirm from Sears people before switching over to Rogers.

I recently switched to world-link( http://www.wlink.ca/html/English/home_english.htm ) based in missg. .
No contract, no minimum etc. 0.079 cents/min for landline calls. Seems reliable as of now. I dont use it much anyway(since we use msn/skype/yahoo a lot)...but still its nice as a back up.
