Does anyone know what is the procedure if a BC resident moves to Ontario? Is the license transferable? Does one have to pass a test?
HELP!
If you are a new resident in Ontario and have a valid driver's licence from another province, state or country, you can use it for up to 60 days after you move to Ontario. If you want to keep driving in Ontario, you must get an Ontario driver's licence. New Ontario residents have 30 days before they have to register their vehicles and get Ontario licence plates and vehicle permit.

If you have a learners licence from BC, can you transfer it to Ontario?
i had a learners licence from ontario but it was not exchanged in bc. i had to appear for knowledge test again. i was told that ontario also doesnt exchange learners licence from bc. but if you have class 7 or 5 from bc, it will be exchanged in ontario 7 will get you g2 and 5, g and vice versa.

Dear friends,
I have couple of questions related to driving, looking forward to get information from here. I shall be landing in May / June this year, my query is,
a) If I start my driving classes in one province and in mean time I get a job in another province, will I be able to transfer my file/case from the province where I started my driving classes?
If answer is NO, then will I have to restart from basic again in new place?
b) If I get license from one province and later move to another province, can I still use the same license or will have to do some paper work /tests again?

provincial transportation authorities do not exchange learners licences. but if you have passed a road test in one province then you will get equivilant licence in the other province. so suppose if you land in ontario and pass the knowledge test but decide to move to alberta before passing the road test in ontario then you will have to pass the knowledge test again in alberta. you will also not receive any credit for road test fee if any paid in ontario. so better before moving to a different province, pass the road test in the same province in which you pass the knowledge test.

Indian : Thanks for your time in reading the query and giving the inputs.
