Hello,

I'm just wondering if anybody knows what happens to our file after the test? Is this when they do all the clearance checks? or are those done before the test?

hi Arjan,

After the Citizenship test officials at local CIC enter all the information regrading your application on Citizenship Application Review Form (CARF). CARF is then forwarded to Citizenship Judge who is the one responsible for granting citizenship.

I think clearance is done before test that's why some applicants have to go through fingerprint check by RCMP.

I got letter from CIC for Citizenship Oath ceremony in Ottawa on 27th June.
Anybody has an idea what is this Special Ceremony and they told there will be media and public presence.

You should be fine..it is just a ceremoney where you take the pledge of citizenship and may either sing the anthem or lip sync
I volunteer my time to the Durham Regional Police Choir and we sometimes sing a patriotic song at the ceremony
