Hi
I have High speed rogers internet when I connect modem directly
to computer I have no problems but when I go through router my computer
does not recognise server. My router has power and all ports functioning
well but why it doesn't recognise the server?
Experts please help. Thanks in advance.
Is it Router or Firewall?
Is it New "Router"? or was it working somewhere else before?
Which Operating System?
Do you get IP Address?

This can range from the very simple to hard because you haven't given much technical information.
I had problems setting up my router as well. The forums here http://www.dslreports.com/forums/all helped me a lot. Most of my problems were already answered there.
Search for your provider (Bell, Rogers etc.) and your router company.
You have to set your router for Cable internet...I am not sure how you do it in case of your router. I had a similar problem. Previously I had Bell internet which is DSL and my router was configured according to that. Then I switched to Rogers Cable internet and I had to change the settings for Cable internet. You have to look up at you router's manual which explains how to set it up for both DSL and cable internet.
Hope this helps.....
