I visited given link before asking Q and consulate asking for :
"(d) Original PR Card as well as original landed paper or Immigration document with photocopies. It may be noted that copies of both sides of PR Card are required. In case of application by mail, notarized copies of both sides of PR card may be sent."
I was not sure consulate entertains people with visitor’s visa and 6 months passport expiry condition is still there. I tried to call at Vancouver consulate and no-one was picking phone. Let me make it daily ritual to call them and God will appear.

You can renew. Instead of PR papers, keep the visit visa papers. Consulate is just ensuring that the person is in Canada legally and not other wise.
