Anybody knows where can I buy desktop with SSD (Solid State Drive)? I checked with Dell and they have only laptops.

Thanks in advance

What drives you to search for SSD desktops though?

HP has it in US, Canada's says discontinued.

I think SSD in desktop will be a waste..that thing has limited read/write life, which is OK for laptop. But in desktop i don't see any use..:(

I know that it has limited lifetime but that is still sufficient to last for 3-4 years(As I heard), after that anyway I have to change my desktop for better speed.

I am only concerned with the write speed as I will be installing a server application which needs tons of fast writes (of small size e.g. logs) and it will kill the server.

Most people say that write speed is less than the normal HDD but reading is much faster.

At this moment I could not find any retail/online store in Canada which can provide SSD at reasonable price.

Hi there,

You could always retrofit an SSD. Check NCIX for example http://ncix.com/products/index.php?minorcatid=1275

Most SSDs seem to be 2.5 inches. Not sure if 3.5s available.
