Dear All,
From past few months I am looking for Job in Accounting/Finance. But so far no luck, life is getting more difficult each day.
Visited almost all the placement agencies in Toronto related to my field. Life is really very difficult in this country.
Now I am even ready for odd jobs.
Guys please can anyone help in finding any job?

Now u are saying you are frustrated just in a Month.
If you want to do something right, then it's not going to be simple, but nothing is impossible either.
One month of hassle is nothing compare to what other people have faced but most of us have been brave and work hard to achieve success.
For time being if u want to do odd job (because of money problem) then do it part-time (evening or night) but keep continue looking for your own interest.
Try to find some place volunteer work, as a book keeper, admin assist or office clerk etc...
Main problem for most of us new immigrant is “we hope for big success in Canada without working hard” we all see Canada as opportunity of land, make big dreams without entering. But once V enter we face reality.
Again, have patience and stick to your plan – u will success

As of now i have got CSR job on a temp basis.
Desi :
Please keep following points:
1. Have patience.
2. Make a strategy.
3. U can go to Newcomer info center, they show as how to get ur resumes at least shortlisted.
4.Go to the malls and all the tim hortons, subways etc. submit ur resume, underplay ur qualification.
5. Also search in google nearby placement agencies for wherever ur location is ,generally u can ask for general labour job, be a lil bit flexible about timings...with in no time you will at least end up in getting labour job.Not needed to walk all the way thru these locations just make a call to them.they will give an appointment ,go and meet them.
6. Have faith on GOD.
My 2 cents on this ..
Other than upgrading your academic skill, this is extremely important to pay attention to the soft skills (communication, body language, eye contact, pleasant attitude etc).Recent study has revealed it out that potential employers in NA consider only 20% on academic skill, experience and remaining 80% on soft skill, attitude, ideal team player attitude etc.
In this country getting the first job (in your own profession) is difficult due to several reason (which has been discussed so many times in the forum I guess ),but if you are good on soft skill with a solid experience (which we Desis do have ,atleast we got Immigration based on that
),getting the right job may not be that difficult.
If you're feeling frustrated please read this book from Dale Carnegie ..it will help you to reduce mental stress...you need mental strength to win the tough battle in this country...

Dear All,
Thanks for your reply!
But things are not happening in this country, even finding odd jobs are difficult. My only worry is about the Job any Job. Looking at my resumes people say you are overqualified and then you dont have canadian experience. I worked voluntary but that experience is not counted as proper canadian experience.
Ofcouse Sun.life I will not leave this country. I know I have to struggle in canada.
Only thing I need from all you senior desis is help in getting odd jobs and some advise.
Regards
Aditya
