Two of my friends, for mer roommates from graduate school are married to locals. One friend is in US and the other in Europe. Both are in their late 40’s. Both have PhD and have good jobs, have children,,etc., basically doing well.
Now in the past couple of months I feel that both are longing for India and regretting what they did. I don’t judge them. Its their lives. I am touch in with them almost every fortnight. Now they are citing the differences. Both are south Indians. E.g. he wants to have rice and sambar, wife wants sausage. Wives does not want to visit India. I have been trying to get the guys talk to each other. They are reluctant, but its their decision. They dont know each other. I have told them my plans from next year. Both are seriously thinking, as I felt, to move to India in the next 2-4 yrs. They are citing lot of differences in culture (clash of it may be), lifestyle, etc. May be the age is catching up. When they were in their early 30s they felt really good (I lost touch with them for nearly 15 years, my bad).
Any exp you have seen, please share. I want to know if its isolated cases or lot of desis have it in that type of situations.

IMO, at the end of the day, its your life, your health, your peace of mind that is paramount and what should matter the most whilst making a decision. Don't go about asking everyone, it will only leave your more confused. Don't worry what the world thinks or says, take the decision you think is right and be prepared to live with the consequences. Dig deep inside and see what makes YOU most happy and go with that. What you consider important in life, might not necessarily be important to someone else and vice-versa.
