95% applicant get their visa within 8 months now, with some exception of getting in 5 months at New Delhi visa post.

What about those people who are still in line for last 6 years? Are you sure?

CIC have separate timelines for separate rules. People who applied before Feb 2008 have waiting of around 4-6 years, while after 2008 March it is mostly within 10 months. Recently on 26 June 2010 rules have been changed again and I guess timeline will be reduced further because of less no. of applicant eligible for apply.

Please come as early as possible as u r young and enthusiastic and this will help to contribute to Canadian economy. It seems that u will not be burden to the Canadian govt. Canada should always encourage young and dynamic people rather than old and experienced people.

a3venom,

Screw the naysayers. Canada may be a lousy country in the eyes of many pessimists in this board, but there are positives as well. You are young, possess the time and inclination. Keep up your positive spirits, especially, if you are coming as a student, you have at least 2 to 3 years to adapt and assimilate and can afford to be piss poor.

My suggestion is to forget sponsorship through your parents. Keep it simple, come on your own, stay independent, come on a student visa, get your degree, enjoy your life, earn some income via on campus jobs while keeping an alert eye out for a suitable career.

For that matter, you can do the same thing in other countries such as US, Australia, etc. So, keep an eye out for those countries as well.

This is under skilled worker category.
Canada is accepting more immigrants than ever before.
