On the lines of the Mahatma statue installed and opened in London, Modi can consider bringing up a memorial. But people who are more loyal to the crown than the Queen herself, will they like it?
And, why's that? Why should Indian politicians and freedom fighters' statues are required in Canada? I am a firm believer in Gandhian ideology myself and try to follow his principles. However, instead of these symbolism, Canadian Parliament should start tangible guilt consciousness/apologies for their high handedness during racial times, e.g. Komagata Maru incidence.
There's no need of Mahatma Gandhi's statue here. Instead, Indian Govt. should've constructed a bigger one in Gujarat in the place of the proposed Patel's, or may be beside him - as a new project.
If Modi really needs to do something for Indo-Canadians, then he should start from abolishing his own Govt.'s/bureaucracy's nightmarish procedures at VFS, BLS, and/or High Commissions. That would be enough from him, as far as I am concerned.
Furthermore, what is the difference between Crown and Queen, by the way? I thought, they are one and synonymous - if you are loyal to the Crown then also to the Queen as well. There's an allegiance written in the constitution.

Except for the alphabets 'X' and 'Z', we are being represented very well here in Canada and I see all of them coming out of the woodworks on this occasion. There I see a few of them missing or omitted. Maybe they are still sleeping.
Yes, Aashu, whenever, where ever you see an Indian Gathering, the one-upmanship will enter the picture and you will see a lot of pushing and shoving in the crowd. They will not consider age gender or the etiquette and will trample everyone. I wish they get a whole lot of volunteers, dressed and color co-ordinated to control the crowd and I am sure there will be hundreds of cops and other security personnel there to take care of the standing (seating?) etc., If there is parking, it will be extremely scarce and hence take the public conveyances that are available on that day, if you are free to attend. Enjoy the day.

I am sure he is currently well recognized and revered all over the world and we can be really proud of him and his peaceful protests.(Movements)
