There is terrorism in so many nations in so many forms. Be it in Pakistan (sunny shia), India, Afghanistan, Nepal, Iraq, Ireland, Sri Lanka, Middle East, African countries or any other part of the world, it is a menace to the society. I request everyone to avoid discussing them if it is not in good taste. Apparently I didn?t find much participation in that discussion by our desis and it was evident that they were not interested in an un-healthy discussion.

What I meant is that UAE web service provider Etisalat and other ISPs (Internet Service Providers) in the Middle Eastern Muslim countries do not allow the content to be viewed by those who browse the net within UAE and within other concerned countries. They actively censor the content of the web sites and monitor the URLs. An average person browsing the net cannot view content of the said sites in the UAE. That’s the reason I said there may be ways to by pass Etisalat’s monitoring system. It was not a link that I mentioned earlier in my post but a setting to use Etisalat proxy in your browser. (It looked like a URL, though) If you want to try setting your browser to filter the content of the web through Etisalat Proxy please click on the link. (I am not sure whether it will work in Canada)

Generally, I am not objecting you discussing the religion, but if it is not in good taste please avoid it in this forum. (as u put it: hot to handle) Personally, I want to visit this forum to discuss and learn about immigration, lives of desis in Canada and related issues. I have objection on your intention/motive/attitude of luring every other person to view a thread that is already locked (you asking for inputs!!!) and it is clear for me from the above 1) & 2) points about what I am saying. As far as me discussing the issues based on religious teachings, I am sorry my friend, I am not interested in talking religion and its teaching in this forum and I won’t be able to contribute anything in your discussions. I believe most of the fighting going on in this world are politically motivated and has nothing to do with the religion. Even in the case of Gujrath, I strongly believe so. It is the fact that leaders are playing with religious sentiments of ignorant public to gain political mileage. Because feeling/believe for particular religion is infused in the mind of a person when he/she was a child and in our society it is likely to carry till the death of that person even he/she has to go through different phases in his/her life (like loosing parents, changing wife/husband, etc…). If you notice, this feeling for religion is very strong in sub-continent and the middle-east. For most of our politicians there is no better instrument than religion/caste to use in their political campaigns. Usamas take advantage of it.

Before you pass "judgements" on my bringing up religion into this forum, please try and find out, how the topic of "religion" was brought up and by whom You may have your own axe to grind with me. You may not like others views and opinions, but thats the beauty of this forum and freedom ofg speech enshrined in the Canadian system of democracy we live in, unlike the UAE (which you claim has censored stuff).

If I am not mistaken, that thread was a discussion abt the last Indian elections. However some folks on that thread skewed off into discussing religion. I disagreed with them ( and still do ) and hence I provided opposing views. I still, have not yet received any claims or proof repudiating those statements that I made. If you observed the flow of discussion, all I got was "vague" statements.
I too dont like violence and hatred. Neither do I like statements of "non-tolerance and hatred" shown in those statements. AFAIK, some parts of that thread was censored by the Mods, and subsequently locked.

What are my motives ?
At that time, I wanted ppl to judge for themselves what we (i.e., DIA and me predominantly) were discussing about. I had a direct link to one of those website on my signature. Some folks here in this forum raised a hullabooo abt that and I modified it. What you see is just a link to that thread.

As for inputs, I would certainly like pvt posts. / e-mails. I am in fact awaiting some replies based on those observations. Unfortunately, you have also showed a propensity for passionate replies and not an objective arguement. If you have any views/ comments or criticisms about those "facts" ( mine and not yours), then I would welcome a dialogue. If not, then as I have requested earlier, please request the Mods to open that thread or start a new thread yourself.

As for your other views abt this forum.. Well YOU are spot on that I dont think many folks have complaints abt most of the stuff discussed here on this forum ! I do hope that you find all information that you are looking for Good luck with your info on immigartion. But be rest assured. If you, or anyone, raise cliams that "so-n-so religion is peaceful; so-n-so religion is better than so-n-so other religion" , then you will definately find my response !

Your last statement goes to show that you are also a product of the same religious/castesist mentality that you are accusing me off. I have a hunch as to where you are from (based on your pronounciations), but I leave that aside. I did not create any verses / religion..

AS D_I_A has himself acknowledged that he agrees with whatever is written on those sites (one of them is the UCLA site ...now dont tell me UCLA is "spreading hatred" ), and I by pointing to that site am "spreading hatred" .. So it actually weakens your position. Give it a thought ! If you want to discuss these things with me, please e-mail me/msg me and I promise u, I will engage you in a meaningful discussion !

I don’t have objection in you discussing it in a thread or privately with anybody, for that matter. (Sorry I am not interested and frankly do not know so much about the Quran). Instigation is generally done by politician back in India. I have grown up to adulthood. Please you too grow up.

Sorry for the hijack, but I still do not understand why we cannot have mature and intelligent discussions on topics like religion, atheism, agnosticsm, evolution etc etc. What is so wrong? Why do people have to feel offended if questions are asked about the fallacies or incongruencies of any religion? Why can't the "religious" explain and answer the questions about their beliefs? Why do we as desis have to be so dogmatic and puritanical in our approach to such issues as concerning God, religion etc? As a comparison I invite you all to visit this message board http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/index.php? and experience the extent of diversity and the level of intellectual discussions in some of the posts, especially in the "Great Debates" section. I have found it to be an amazing message board that has greatly enhanced my knowledge and also been an excellent source of intellectual stimulation. I do not see why this board has to limit itself to very specific subjects of only immigration, picnics, movies, restaurants and such?
