Dear All,
Can somebody help me with a list of probable questions that are asked in Knowledge Test of G1 Licence.Is such a question bank available on net?

I would HIGHLY recommend you to buy official dirver's handbook

http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/pubs/drivhand/carvan.htm for $ 12.95 +taxes

but it's also availiable online at

By the way desis, there has been a new development recently.

We went to the Oakville center to give our G1 written test recently and were surprised when we were asked to get our Indian Drivers licences verified by the Indian Embassy/Consulate downtown. When I visited them a month ago this rule did not prevail, but I did not give the test since I had just arrived.

CDs, please check and throw some light, as this puts newcomers in a dilemma. On phoning the consulate, we were told this could take up to one month; this would further delay our mobility

. Please advise urgently. Perhaps some other center in Mississauga would be more obliging/understanding.

Would appreciate very much if someone could check and advise at the earliest.

That's not required as one of my friends has already given test with his indian driving license..please try at anothe centres...

Hi Margo/Interceptor,

Well I would like to share my experience.

I have personally witnessed three of my friends appearing for G1 test and two of them had to get the license verified from Consulate. This is nothing but another hurdle in smooth transition.

This was at the Driving Test Centre on Airport Road.

I think they just do it on sampling basis and also depends upon the mood of the staff member attending to you. I say so because she was just giving print outs of contact address of Consulate/Embassies of not only India but other countries also to the new license aspirants.

So its better if you can try at another centre and just keep your fingers crossed. But please ensure that your license is in good condition that is it should not be mutilated and torn.
