hi, we landed in canada in nov. 2001.i have 2 children 19 and 18 running.we have not taken child benefit since my accountant advised me not to do so as my husband is not working here.we are filing IT return showing income non-taxable.there is still 1 year i can take the benefit for one child.please advise .i would also like to know why i should not take benefits since i am living here with my 2 sons.thanks.
As per my understanding you cannot claim CCTB for children above the age of 18. You might like to visit the web site of CCRA for this.
