Hi moderator and all CDs:
I am from New Delhi. I have got my Immigrant Visa a couple of months ago. But due to some personal reasons, I am not going to migrate to Canada. In that case, can I get my Right of Landing fee(Right of Permanent Residence fee) for me and my spouse back from CHC? How can I approach? What is the procedure for that? Replies from all corners will be appreciated.

Hey man, the govt of Canada needs all the money it can get. We are being heavily taxed - partly to be able to give service to people who take up Canadian migration and never come here to live. Let the money stay here and make more of it in India!

Dear Ram_saravan,
Although I read the word "PERSONAL REASONS", I thought of writting this and I am extremely sorry. I felt, its better to offload rather then supressing.
I was in a similar boat before few days and had almost decided to stop the run and stay back with the present I have right now in INDIA. I am not writting everything about me as you can find it very well from the HOME PAGE of this site (on the left side), an article with the subject "I AM NOT COMING TO CANADA, NO NO I AM COMING NOW". I would suggest you to please read that to know how comfortale I was in INDIA. But still....
If I am a bread winner of my family, I should think the "X+1" way, where "X" is your present and +1 says everything about future. Future of our kids, our family members for whome you can become a GATEWAY. See my friend, I think we owe a lot to the coming generations. I generally avoid being specific about anything, but let me say here that I always admire "PATELS", who are meant to be very calculative in such steps of life. I have many friends from an area called CHAROTAR in Gujarat and you won't believe they made a village called "DHARMAJ", the richest VILLAGE of ASIA.
See, my point is these are not every day stories, you may have a different scene all together after few years and then you will never be able to ENCASH that "WHITE STAMP" in your passport called "CANADA VISA". In fact if you read my article, you will find an option (I think no -4), please think about that, i.e. come for 15/20 days, take back your PR and continue living with the INDIAN life.
I am sorry once again if I have wasted few minutes of yours, if you find these totally in contradiction to the intencity of the personal problem you are passing through, but PLEASE THINK...YEH SAMAY JO SATH HAI WOHI HAKIKAT HAI...so think today for future.
REgards,
VJ
Hi VJ :
First of all many many thanks for your consideration and interest. I have been a regular visitor of the forums here. You are making 8 lacs pa (gross family income), still u want to migrate b'coz you strongly feel that you will make it "bigger" one day in Canada that will give a stronger base for your children. But...... at the same time have you ever thought about what are all the things you can achieve with your income (&a career in booming finance sector) in india that will provide a stronger platform for the next generation, if you have a bit of entrepreneurship and try that right here in your field. What r u going to achieve in a new place (canada) when you are unable to utilize your savings properly here and when you can't achieve anything here in india with your 8 lacs pa? WHAT &HOW r u going to make it big there where u would need to any odd job for survival(like a labor job : non-stop 8 hrs a day, after tax 900$ income approx, still making 2 ends
meet is going to be difficult : rent 700$ bread, butter 200$ forget indulging in rest)WHEN you sacrifice a present career in india where u can save a lot that will help u give good education to next gen. and send them US or UK for higher studies that will help them settle down over there very well as qualified successful and rich NRIs. Don't decide to land a country where your education & exp. will not be recognized. Give overseas education to your children and let them settle down., they will be grateful to you forever. I think, By staying here, people like you can give a better future to next gen. than by migrating to a country with luring immigration policies and cheating settlement polices.
Think about it. Give your reply. I don't mean to hurt you. Bye.
