BTW, who are "Britishers"? Indianer eh? ;-)
Grow up! and learn to discuss things when you participate in a public discussion forum. Just don't expect to write any cr*p replying to someone elses thread and not expect to be pointed out for your flawed reasoning.
FYI, There is no word "britishers" People who are citizen of Britain are called British.

OK. SO????
I wrote what I felt. If you feel that US is greatest country, you are free to believe that. Isn't that what Britishers felt about Britian, a few decades before???

I think when one immigrates one thinks of embracing the surrounding identity also. After 4 year we wud be Canadians ..........more so after 10 years ........Canada is a land of fresh Immigrants where each ethinicity has their identity blended into the whole. In short being a Canadian means u cud be a Chinese , Indian , British - allowed 2 follow ur own customs & belief and still b a Canadian ........... Thats the beauty of being a Canadian unlike the US / UK where u HAVE 2 b essentially an American / British to live there ........ u tend to lose ur identity . Getting a Green Card doesnt make u and American ......... and I dont know how much Americans accept non Americans as one of their own !!
These are my thoughts m but they can b wrong as I ve never been 2 the US ..............feel free 2 correct me.
Manasvi.

Back earlier in the year I was in Calgary for an interview for a very senior position. I am happy to say that I was offered that position but with Canadian salary. This was about 10% lower than my current US salary. Additionally I was told that there may be upto 45% deductions for health and supporting the socialism that is comparable to England. In US I pay about 20% in taxes etc.
Since most of the Desis are all over the world to better themselves economically and otherwise, is not it a moot point wheather you live in America or Canada?
What right wing politics are we talking about? Do you think there is no 'right wing' in Canada? You must live in a coo coo land. Be real. You can live anywhere you like because it is not the motherland you left behind.

all is well that ends well
By the way Manasvi, I have lived in England, USA and Canada. I prefer USA any time. Contrary to what you say, the Indian Americans here follow the same routines as you would in India or UK for that matter. I do not think there is any such thing that you can be more Indian in Canada than USA or UK.
You really need to visit major USA centers to see for yourself as to how Indians has assimillated in the host society but have managed to keep alive our old traditions.
Is this a matter of 'grapes are sour'?
