I have a GSM phone and wish to find out what good options i would have when i am travelling to different provinces in Canada especially the Atlantic provinces.

Would prepaid be better option or go with a monthly package with no lockin for 1-3 yr term? Does anyone offer monthly package without lockin for a term?

Again getting a package from toronto and then travelling would mean making long distance calls while in other provinces. These companies rip u off in long distance charges.

Hence would like to understand what better options are there in such cases?

I have a Bell Canada cell phone that has no roaming or long distance charges for all of Canada and US.
The montly plan is $40 plus junk fees and taxes.
It depends on how many calls you will be making - you can either get a plan that has lots of minutes but has roaming/LD charges, or get a plan that has no roaming/LD but not a lot of talk time.

A plan that has both are usually expensive (like Verizon's).
