I got in my credit bureau report $8000 standing against me from citibank mastercard. The addrress on report mention is where i never lived in my whole life some where in downtown toronto. I sent letter to euifax for correction. They sent me reply after update wrong address but amount remain same standing against me. This transaction was made from same wrong add. by some one after stealing my info. Credit bureau is asking me to talk with CITI Mastercard. Citimaster card sent this case to collection agency. but collection, but addr. is different in citibank's data. only my name is there. So no body tried to reach me. I want to fix my credit which is screwed cz of ID theft. What are my options now and in what way i should proceed with this now further?

Did you have some information or inking about the fraud because you asked for the 'Credit Report' or it came to your knowledge after you got the report?

I remember another similar instance thru CD, when the fraud 'came to light' upon report was recieved. Is it that asking for the report creates a problem which never existed before anyway?
