Folks ,

Would netbooks be cheaper here in Toronto or in Dubai ( Carrefour and all ) ?

If you are lucky then CAD 100 lesser in DXB (carrefour, etc.) But I wouldn't buy it if I am not living in Dubai due to warranty issues. I know a couple of cases personally.

Anyhow, if you do buy from Dubai, check out Meena bazaar in Bur Dubai(Perfecta, Sharaf, etc.). Sometimes there are better deals there.

Have fun shopping! :)

Traveling to India via UAE ... thinking of carrying a netbook ... It costs $250/- plus taxes say $280/- here or AED 1015/- ...... I wonder how much it costs in Dubai ?

I would check Carrefour and Al Nasser Sq . ... perhaps Meena Bazaar as well ....

Call shops in Dubai from Canada and compare. Would be better I guess. Online prices don't always better the instore prices.

Also ... do not forget to check out Al Ain Mall or Musalla mall in Bur dubai near Al Khaleej Centre. Al Ain mall is packed with Computer shops and wafer thin margins. On second thoughts I'd say give Meena bazaar a miss and go to Al Ain mall.

Do a google on shops in Al Ain mall and call them from here and get to know the prices. Few minutes of calls will do you good.

You can go to 10 shops in 10 minutes, I doubt if you can do that in Al Nasr or Meena Bazaar. :)

Or even more convenient check out http://www.souq.com" rel="nofollow">LINK . THis is UAE's version of ebay.
