I think we are all enjoying the lower crime rate in Canada. Without all the social spending, which us backed by the taxes, I dont that that will be a possibility. So taxes may not be all bad.

I don't like the changes to immigration policies brought in by conservatives of late. Any immigrant from non-English/French speaking countries just can't make it. If they are able to score enough points, then the skill won't be there in the list. If the skill is there, then they are just not able to score points. Highly educated folks dont go for plumbing, welding etc.

I don't like Liberals not keeping their poll promises either.

So guess I will vote for Green Party. Sure they are going to loose, but what options are really there??

(Some may say changes to immigration is a federal issue and not provincial... But then so is potato and pohtahtoh)

what would you like to hear from him?
what are your key issues?
since you have already said that I am an agent of the PC party, i can easily relay the message back to him so that he can win your vote :p

Here what I want

Remove Health Tax that Dalton brought in.

Remove provincial portion on Gas, Heat and Hydro and Kids sports activities.

Can he do it? Not only my vote, I can assure you that he will have 60% of votes in Ontario.

Our family vote is going for PC

Because of
- HST
- Health premium tax
- Hydro increase
- Pharmacy
Allowed auto insurance companies like TD to hike 27% of insur.

&
- Vision care removed out of Health care
- Continuous increase in property tax (though its a provincial matter, but the frustration still counts), without proportionate increase in facilities.
- Lack of Job growth
- list is endless
a reminder for those who didn't heard Dalton speaking in 2003 (here he is promising "We Will Not Raise Taxes";) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQ9jINVMh8k&feature=player_profilepage

And how are the Tories going to remedy this?

Are you there?

i can categorically state that I am not a member of the PC party (or any political party, federal or provincial).
I do not have any affiliation, even on a volunteer basis, with any political party.

what I am though, is a long time resident of Ontario and recently getting more and more concerned with the direction that the province in taking in recent years.

hence my questions and asking for other opinions.

i don't believe i have said anything in this thread that shows advertising or influence peddling.
i have however conveyed my disagreement and disgust with some of the politices of the current administration but that's not advertising.
as is clear from some of the other responses I am not the only one. there are many others that are equally opposed to these policies.

due regards.

thanks for conveying your list.
there is no candidate today that is promising to address all of the above.
only PC candidate Hudak comes close.
he has promised to remove the HST on heating and hydro.

Mcguinty's health tax cannot be removed without creating a huge hole in the budget.
ironically enough I am not against the health tax.
my issue is that the idiot called it health premium and not tax, which is what it really is.
and to this day, he continues to live in denial and continues to adamantly deny that it is a tax.

pronvincial tax on gasoline is an outrage.
it is pure and simple tax grab.
then minister clement does the dog and pony show of asking the oil company executives to appear in parliament and provide justification for high gas prices.
what a sham.
the government must look in the mirror and ask themselves why gas prices are high rather than ask gas companies.
if both the federal and provincial governments remove all the stupid taxes they tag on gas and just leave the regular GST on it, gas will cost about 70c. right now and not $1.30.
and prices of everything else will drop by at least 10%.

kids sports activities...., i agree with you.
but it is a small thing I believe. and therefore no one is talking about it.
also it is offset to some extent with both the provincial and federal tax credits for childrens' activity fees.
