I am not going to dispute that.

Till date the doctors that I have come across here have been thorough & sincere - some thing which they lack in India if you are not known to them or not an important person ..... there they are money making machines ... exceptions are present of course .

Also it is not a question about patriotism. Many of the companies that have been found in Silicon Valley have founders or co-founders who are from IIT or IIM. So let's not totally use derogatory terms like kitaabi kidaa here.

...

Sir you yourself stated that Indian Engineers mug it up ... How much s the % of IIT / IIM alumunus from India ?? What happens to the rest who have studied in the same great education system ?? Why don't you talk about them as well to depict the complete success of Indian education system ... Why should the system be given the credit for the genes or intelligence ............ the system should be able to make a profound perceptible impact to all !!

When the president of US or prime minister of Canada itself is saying that good engineers and doctors are not being produced there and we have to encourage talent from outside then we should accept there might be some truth in quality of education here. Rest my case...

Did they say 'GOOD' or 'ENOUGH' or enough good ?? There s a difference in these 3 which is related to proportions ..... You are perhaps confused with proportion & system ......

Just because a refinery is producing good product does not mean that the refinery is good - perhaps the raw material is the one which is good and needs less refining .

I have not worked with Best CA (I don’t know how to define best CA) from Canada. However I have worked with Canadian CA and have not seen much difference between Indian and Canadian CA while performing their professional tasks. I have not observed any significant impact of basic education on professional career (at least for CAs from both the places).

I am not admiring Indian education system or depreciating Canadian education. I am just sharing my observation. Someone might have different opinion / observation.

I know one thing, India has made me what I am today and as it happens Canada wants me here. So, to say that Indian education system is bad is taking it bit too far.

Yes, in India the competition level is getting high day by day which is killing the creativity of children. It will happen here also if population increases to the extent of India. That is my reason of migration along with stress free work culture.

I don't agree about comments about IIT and IIM, if those guys are dumbs then are the Fortune 100 companies fools to hire them?

They are not dumb, but far from it. The best brains in the country. However, you need to compare them with the ones in MIT, Oxford, Cambridge, Yale, etc. Apples to apples, right?

I just referred to a few at my place of work that I encountered - nothing special. They do the same task with the same efficiency as I, who is a product of DU, and a few private IT institutes.

Ever know who Fortune 100 companies hire - all of them? No Sire, just a crop.

Anyhow, no point in arguing as each have their own pre-notions based on their own experiences.

OK some more cents ....

a. I have had some CA friends who tried doing Canadian CA and were not able to clear the final stages and gave up stating it was not easy .... maybe they were older in life but that goes to prove one thing - that Canadian CA s are on the same level as Indian ones if not more .

b. Try entering the medicine sector here and in India and you will find that it is tougher .

I do not think anyone has belittled IIT / IIM grads on this thread ..What we have tried to get across is - if the Indian Education System is so very good then how come every body is not an IIT / IIM grad ...In other words is it a fair statement to say that since the Indian Education system is so good ....it produces IIT / IIM grads ......

Look at the average crowd and then look at the teaching methodology and then check the dedication of teachers and then pragmatically state how good or bad the ed system is .....

What s put me off is some one writing that cramming = understanding .... it cannot be ....

OK Indian education system has got me also here but that does not mean that I can not cite the ills of it ........... I have known Engineering Professors from REC s condemning the same when they came out to taught abroad ..... sending their own children abroad for higher studies .

Who is saying that Indian CA is better than Canadian CA ? geez !

It is stupidity to judge the quality of the professional designation based on students result period

Your friends result does not prove does that Canadian CA is better than Indian CA and on the same line failure in CA exam in India does not indicate that Indian CA is better than Canadian CA. The whole point started when you brought the point of comparing Indian and Canadian CA.

FYI Only:
• Pass rate for UFE (CA exam in Canada) approximately 80 %
• Pass rate for CA Final exam in India approximately 15 %

The whole thing started here with one poster stating that the professionals here are inferior .
