Hasni :
Have you thought of the option of settling your wife and children in Toronto first and then living them in Toronto for 1 year, while you work in the Gulf?
Your wife and children can get used to Toronto and then advise you on the ground realities that exist here.
Many from Gulf do that, as Gulf offers such easy job oppertunities.

Dear HF, I appreciate your detailed reply. Got one question, when I landed here initially for short stay, I had my IDL and drove for almost 15 days. Does it mean that I can still drive for another two and half months on my IDL! Now I plan to come and drop my family, shall be staying with them for two months and intend to get my G license. Secondly about the cars, would it be a good idea to buy a car (if I find some good one), park it and go back. So that once I come to Canada again after around six months, at least I shall be having a car and may be able to start my moves rightaway. Do you agre with this idea ! Can you suggest some good links for cheaper car insurances. I have taken my driving reord from here and got it translated from Ilham Tamari, a recognized translator in Mississauga,...would that help in getting me modest insurance rates !
Given link is for the agency that helps prepare for security guard test, and charge around CAD 245, would it be helpful in getting security related jobs or there are again ines who do this while charging far less than this agency !! Pls do share some links if you know any !

Talking about P.Eng, first of all thanks for this useful info, I have done some research and learnt that even without having P.Eng...one can get a job in his profession. That's why I am not keeping P.Eng on my "to do" list for the moment. However OACETT seems a good option, if it is not that money and time consuming, may go for it.
@TK pls explain the info that you shared, at least for fun sake would like to experience them once
Thanks Hasni.
I am a busy man. What I have said is clear by itself. Please google for more specific info.
Regarding your other questions, You should buy a car when you are ready to use it. Car value goes down by the month. Driving instruction comes as a package like 20 hours driving. Also note that there will be a waitlist (1-3 months) in summer to do your driving test booking. So that will lead you to book in linsay (3 hours drive). This will cost $ 300 per drive there on the day of test. It is not as easy as it seems. Initially you are much better off in public transit. You can also rent a car for going to Niagra, ottawa etc...

I agree and pray god to grant me enough strength not to respond the useless nonsense replies that are posted all over repeatedly .
OP : No pun intended to your queries . IMHO if an individual ( read as immigrant ) has to depend on Welfare money or soup kitchens which is intended for homeless and helpless , one should RETURN IMMEDIATELY to his home country .
Due to my nature of business earlier I visited thousands of Community Housing all over Toronto . I never came across even a single Indian family among them .

Don't get too scared.
TK just gave tips for worst case scenario.
Child benefits / Employment Insurance will not effect you. But if you go on welfare assistance, you can't sponsor your eligible dependents immediately if that applies to you.
